Day 1: Arrival Welcomed by Ethio Sights Tours representative on arrival and transfer to a hotel. Depending on arrival time possibly have either full day or half day city tour of Addis Ababa and overnight stay in a hotel. Day 2: Fly from Addis Ababa to Semera Addis Ababa to Semera flight in the morning and drive to Danakil Depression. First stop in Lake Afdera (salt lake) and to Dodom (center of Erta-ale volcano) for 1 hour trekking. Set up camping atop the volcano and overnight stay watching the spectacular lava lake & active volcano. Day 3: Drive from Erta-ale to Hamadela Driving early in the morning watching camel caravans on the way and spotting sunrise proceed to Ragad/Asebo, a local salt mining place. Journey continues to Dallol Depression, the lowest place in Ethiopia and Lake Afdera. Overnight camping in Lake Afdera. Day 4: Semera to Addis Ababa Another sunrise to spot in Lake Afdera and drive to Semera town. Fly from Semera to Addis Ababa for departure.

Day 2: Fly Addis Ababa to Diredawa Flight to Diredawa in the morning and drive to Harar City in the east. Visiting the Harar Jegol Wall, local market, French poet Rimbaud’s house, Harari Museum, and the unforgettable hyena-feeding man show at night. Overnight stay in Harar. Day 3: Drive from Harar to Diredawa Passing via Aweday khat market and fly from Diredawa back to Addis Ababa. Night life in one of the best traditional restaurants in Addis Ababa before departure.

Day 1: Fly to Mekele - Drive to Dodom Flight to Mekele from Addis Ababa and drive to Dodom (Erta-ale volcano’s base) in the morning. After driving through solidified lava and rock reach Dodom for trek to Erta-ale. Camels transport logistical supplies and overnight camping in volcano sight. Day 2: Dodom to Lake Afdera to Hamadela Return from Erta-ale to Dodom and move to Lake Afdera (slat-lake). Drive from   Lake Afdera to Hamadela village. Overnight camping in Hamadela Day 3: Hamadela to Mekele to Hawzen Morning drive to Ragad (Asebo), local salt mining area to see how salt bar is shaped rectangular and packed on camels. Drive to Dallol (116meter below sea level) and visit the difference landscape formed by volcanic activity and Lake Assal. Drive back to Hamadela and proceed to Hawzen. Overnight in a hotel at Hawzen Day 4: Excursion to Abune Yemata and return to Addis Ababa Drive to Gheralta to visit the monastery of Abune Yemata, Debre Mariam Korkor and short walk to Abba Daniel’s prayer place, dating back to the 6th century. Drive back to Mekele and fly to Addis Ababa.

Day 5: Excursion to the Agnuak and Nuer people The Agnuak and Nuer are ethnic groups of Gambella distinct for their dark color and tall stature. Overnight in hotel Day 6: Drive Gambella to Mizan Teferi. Drive from Gambella to Mizan Teferi .Overnight in hotel. Day 8: Drive Mizan Teferi to Tulgit Drive then short hike to visit the Dizi and Surmi people. Overnight camping. Day 9: Drive Tulgit to Kibish Visit another group of the Surmi people. Overnight camping. Day 11: Drive Kibish to Bebeka. Drive from Kibish to Bebeka, one of the main coffee plantation areas of the country. Overnight in hotel.
